The member of parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem Hon George Mireku Duka as cut sword for the construction of a pavilion for the people of Akoon in the Tarkwa Nsuaem municipality.
The pavilion which i intended to be completed within three month period is a fulfillment of a promised made by the member of parliament to the community earlier this year.
As a sign of commitment, Hon Duker presented over 60 bags of cement, two trips of sand and stones for the construction of the pavilon.
Speaking to journalist along side a short durbar to mark the occasion, Mr Duker intimated his commitment to bringing development to Tarkwa Nsueam constituency as he urged them to corporate with the contractor.
” Earlier this year l made a promise to the good people of Akoon to construct a pavilion to serve as a meeting ground for the community and today am hear to fulfil the promise l made…the pavilion is expected to be completed within 3 month l am entreating members if this community to assist the contractor to discharge his duties successfully with in the stipulated period
He therefore urged the contractor to have an harmonious working relation with the community and at all times liaise with the elders of the community.
Chief of Akoon, Nana Abban on his part thanked the Member of parliament for not renarging on his promise.
According to him the pavilion when completed will help solve issues of flooding in the community.
He however called on the member of Parliament to construct a reservoir as the community often experience shortage of drinkable water.
